Miss LAUREN

Director / Principal

Lauren Elizabeth Wormald is a highly respected choreographer in the UK and now in Australia having choreographed and taught for many dance studios, fashion shows, events, cabarets, professional productions, holiday camps, gyms, schools, fitness studios, theatre productions including productions such as Grease, Hairspray, Chicago, The wizard of oz, Legally Blonde, Higher & Higher and Heathers. With over 15 years of experience in the performing arts industry she wanted to focus on building her own dream and so L. E. Academy was born and established in late 2015.

Lauren holds teaching and performance qualifications with the I. D. T. A (international dance teachers association) the U. K. C. A (United Kingdom cheerleading association) the A. T. O .D (Australian Teachers Of Dancing) Acrobatics Arts and a qualification in Zumba fitness instructing.

Lauren trained professionally at the well renowned Phil Winston’s Theatre works college and agency in the UK for three years in all aspects of dance and performance. Her professional credits include: three contracts with Disneyland Paris as a Character, dancer and parade performer, Siblu Resorts (France) as dance captain and choreographer, Singer/Dancer in the works showcases and cabarets (Blackpool), various promotional events, singer/dancer in variety performances at the Royal Albert Hall (London), Entertainment at Paradise Resort (Gold Coast), TV Extra work, Choreographer of community charity fashion shows and various dance schools, college and university performances, dance and fitness teacher for Madonna’s gym Hard Candy-(Sydney), Dancer at Mardi Gras (Sydney), Special performance at the GCTA Arts Centre and many other dance schools/ gyms and theatres.

In 2016 Lauren was awarded with the “Best Choreographer 2016” award at the Gold Coast Theatre Alliance Awards for her work on a production at spotlight theatre in which she also performed.

MISS CHARLOTTE

Trained in all styles since the age of three, Charlotte has grown up on the Gold Coast always eager to jump onstage. She has completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at QUT and is in the midst of completing her Masters of Teaching. Charlotte currently works at Dreamworld as an Entertainer as well as teaching at various school across the Gold Coast. In 2018 she was Vice President/ Dance Captain of the QUT elite dance competition teams and has also performed in numerous Community Theatre productions on the GC. Charlotte is ready for another exciting year with the beautiful LEA family and cannot wait to watch her students dance and grow.

Mr Bodie

Senior / Open Jazz
 

Bodie Fullerton born and raised in Brisbane but has called London and the USA home for the last 8 years! At 16 Bodie moved to Sydney to study full-time at ED5 International. Since he has worked all over Australia and Internationally as a Dancer, Choreographer and Director. Australian Dance Credits: Australian MTV Video Music Awards, Australian Idol Live Shows Dancer, Dancer for Guy Sebastian, Sophie Monk, Vanessa Amorosi, Human Nature, Ricki Lee & Nikki Webster.

International Credits: Priscilla Queen of the Desert Canada, He made his London Westend Debut in The Houdini Experience as a featured Acrobat & Dancer, Can Can and Soloist Dancer at the World Renowned Moulin Rouge in Paris, Best of Musicals German Tour & Udo Lindenberg Principal male dancer on his Germany Stadium Tour ‘Panik Party’. Since his dancing days Bodie has gone on to work as a Choreographer and Director creating shows for The Venetian Casino, Sands Casino & Galaxy Casino in Macau. He also has been one of the Creative Directors and Choreographers for Norwegian Creative Studios which is Norwegian Cruise alone, Regent Seven Seas and Oceania Cruise Lines.

Bodie now has his own Talent Agency ‘Alive Agency’ representing Dancers on contracts all over the world from Casinos, Cruises, Showgirl Reviews, Artist Tours, Circus and Theatres all over Europe. Bodie is super excited to be back living in Australia and can’t wait to be working with the next generation of talent!

MISS Tianna

Open Acro, Open Hip Hop, Hip Hop Performance teams, Acro Performance Team

Tianna has been involved in dance, acrobatics and circus arts for 18 years. At just 12 years old Tianna received a dance scholarship into her dream secondary school, doing well in the program Tianna was given the title of Dance Captian and since graduating has been back on multiple occasions to choreograph various routines. Her love for dance, circus and acrobatics continued when she began teaching in 2014, teaching classes of all ages and styles.

Tianna has since continued on teaching dance, aerial arts and acrobatics at multiple studios on the Gold Coast. Aerial arts have been a large part of Tianna’s teaching experience, she loves the idea of encouraging her students to ‘do the impossible’ and loves to see the joy on her students’ faces when they achieve their goals.

In 2018 Tianna graduated from the Queensland University of Technology, completing her Bachelor in Fine Arts (Dance) course. Tianna has since pursued further studies, being accepted into the Masters of Education course at the Queensland University of Technology, due to graduate in 2020. With these degrees under her belt, Tianna will pursue a career in secondary education. Tianna has a huge love and appreciation for teaching, especially in circus & aerial arts as she loves guiding her students to achieve their goals both on and off the ground. Tianna cannot wait to be apart of the LEAcademy team in 2020!

MISS Jess

Inter Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Senior / Open Contemporary, Senior / Open Lyrical

Jess is a Gold Coast based teacher and performer who is utterly passionate about dancing, singing, performing and teaching. After years of training, she completed her Cert 4 of Commercial Dance and Musical Theatre at Brent Street in 2013. After studying Primary Education for three years, Jess now works full time as a singer, dancer and suit character at Dreamworld.

Additionally, she has been a member of “Insomnia” Hip Hop crew, a dancer in the Gold Coast Suns Squad, a suit performer and host in children’s show “Farmyard Friends” and a back up dancer for drag performer Justine Kace. In her spare time Jess loves to perform in musicals, recently doing Heathers and Higher and Higher at Spotlight Theatre.

Jess is very excited to join in L.E.Academy family, and share her passion and knowledge with a new generation.

MISS Mandy Morrison

Mandy began dancing at age 3 at The Dance Works in Brisbane. After finishing school she went on to study Music Theatre at the Australian Dance Performance Institute and gained an Advanced Diploma of Art (Music Theatre).

After this Mandy moved to Melbourne and significantly expanded her performance experience working on both the corporate & commercial scene and extensively in children’s entertainment. She also taught at Elevator Studios and frequently subbed for various kids and professional classes. In 2015 Mandy was nominated for a Lyrebird award for Best Choreography for OCPAC’s production of ’The Addam’s Family’.

A one year stint in Darwin saw Mandy become a core faculty member at Sam’s Dance Studio where she taught jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, acrobatics, music theatre & singing.

Upon her return to Queensland Mandy began performing at Dreamworld as a show host, dancer and street performer where she continues to work to this day.

Mandy’s performance credits include: Dreamworld Australia – multiple roles, Australia’s Got Talent Grand Finale, Carols by Candlelight (Channel 9), ‘Sesame Street’ National & International tours, ‘Dora the Explorer’ International Tour, ‘Octonauts’ National Tour (Lifelike Touring), The Ekka (Giggle Entertainment), Crown Casino Melbourne, numerous corporate performances (Brisbane, Melbourne, Gold Coast) plus many more.

Mandy is thrilled to be joining the LEA family in 2021 and couldn’t be more excited to share her knowledge with her students!

MISS Georgia

Georgia Clay started dancing at the age of 3, training in all styles of dance until she was
11 years old when she discovered her love of ballet and contemporary. Georgia spent
time in New York, training at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy (GKA), Broadway Dance
Centre and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.
After graduating year 12 she then moved to the USA, accepting a full Scholarship to The
Rock School For Dance Education’s ‘Professional Program’. During her time in America,
Georgia performed in several productions and gained invaluable experience training
under some of the industry’s finest.
Georgia currently holds an ATOD (Australian Teacher of Dance) Certificate, as well as
having achieved her ARAD (Advanced Royal Academy of Dance) Qualification in addition
to ACB (Australian Conservatoire of Ballet) Teaching Qualifications.
Georgia has choreographed numerous successful pieces, and is very passionate about
sharing her knowledge

Miss Maddie O’Connor

Jr Jazz

Maddison O’Connor is a passionate performer with over 13 years of performance experience and 4 years of training as a teacher for dance students aged 3 through to 14. She has broadened her horizons in dance during her 5 years attending LEA and now partakes in a diverse range of styles including Hip Hop, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Acro, Musical Theatre, and also has dedicated time to be a part of the Elite Competition Team since 2017; the diligence she showed within her role at L.E.Academy has landed her Numerous awards including Dancer of the Year(2017), Rising Star(2018) and Overall Senior(2019). Throughout her time in high school, she has been a devoted member of the Arts Excellence programs as both a dancer and actor, partaking as a choreographer and performer in school eisteddfods and drama fests, as well as landing numerous lead roles in school productions such as Sharpay in HSM, Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, Mimi in RENT, Bridget in Bring It On and The Runaway in an original play. Recently, Maddie has begun to explore the professional world of performing and landed a job within the Entertainment Team at Paradise Resort. She looks forward to continuing her journey as a performer, choreographer and teacher as she finishes high school and transitions into her career path.

MR DANE WALKER

Boys Only Class

Dane is a year 11 student who started dancing when he was two years old and attended Scream Dance and Drama in the U.K. He performed in many shows and even appeared in two TV shows. Dane’s love of dance was inspired by Michael Jackson and over the years has self-choreographed numerous dance routines.
Dane attends Queensland Academies of Health Sciences and volunteers in the boy’s hip hop dance class as part of his school curriculum in which he thoroughly enjoys as he has dance and music in his bones.

MISS CAITLIN APPI

STUDENT TEACHER

Caitlin started dancing when she was 3 years old and hasn’t stopped since. She has experience in many styles of dance, including jazz, hip hop, contemporary/lyrical, acro, musical theatre, tap, cheer and ballet. She has been in many different productions within her school, L.E.Academy and other activities. Some of these include 4 L.E.Academy showcases, many regional and national competitions with the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Senior Elite team, multiple school dance showcases and eisteddfods, and most recently her 2019 school production of ‘Bring It On’ where she played Nautica. Caitlin is currently studying dance and drama at her school and achieving highly in these subjects, and actively participating in as many productions as possible. She has a passion for dance and performing, and loves being around children, and feels honoured to be part of the student teaching team at L.E.Academy. 2020 will be her third year teaching and she is so happy to continue. Caitlin aims to gain as much dance experience as possible, and she has an aspiration for a future in the performing arts or teaching.

MISS LUANA BEE AUTILIO

STUDENT TEACHER

Luana started dance at the age of 7 and from there has participated in different styles of dance including jazz, contemporary, cheer, acro & was also training level 5 in gymnastics at Broadbeach PCYC.

 

Luana holds a place in the dance excellence program at Southport State High School and she also takes part in their academic excellence program. She has been included in a number of school based events such as being cast as the “March Hare” in “Dorothy in Wonderland” in 2015, being in the Gold Coast eisteddfod dance team team for both Ashmore State School and L. E. Academy as well as competing in gymnastics competitions from levels one through 5.

 

During her time at L. E. Academy, Luana has participated in the elite team where she has performed in a range of competitions including Step Up, Gold Coast Eisteddfod, DanceLife Unite and the DanceLife Unite nationals held in Sydney.
Upon having joined Miss Lauren at L. E. Academy almost three years ago, Luana was ecstatic when she was asked to help as a student teacher and enjoys teaching the children in every class she can.

MISS ELLA GRAY

STUDENT TEACHER

Hi my name is Ella,  I dance at L. E. Academy and I do a variety of dance styles such as ballet,  contemporary, hip-hop and Acro and I have the privilege to be a part of an amazing elite competition team.

Through L. E. Academy I have been able to experience many opportunities, such as, competing at nationals in Sydney and participating in many dance competitions around the coast.  I’m proud to be apart of the L. E. A family, with very supportive and caring students and most of all our amazing dance teachers,  they do such an awesome job. 

L. E. A makes me inspired to become a better dancer, every time I step through the doors. I believe that no matter who you are, everyone can dance and have fun.  I hope in future I can inspire people and entertain them by making them feel a certain emotion towards my dancing. I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings each and every person of L. E. Academy.

MISS AMELIA WISE

STUDENT TEACHER

Amelia attended her first ballet class at the age of 5. She has progressed through her RAD Ballet Exams to Intermediate Foundation Level. She is now learning pointe work through Cecchetti Ballet program with Miss Erin. Amelia has a love of all styles of dance including jazz, contemporary / lyrical , musical theatre and is now learning tap.

Amelia won a dance scholarship to Benowa State High and is currently studying in their STEM academic program. She has a love of musicals and performed in her first  Musical as a cheer leader last year in Benowa State High’s “High School Musical”.

Over the years Amelia has been involved in many Elite Teams  performing across the Gold Coast at competitions and eisteddfods, but the highlight was dancing with the first L.E.A Elite Team and making it through to Dance Life United Nationals in Sydney making lots of memoires and lasting friendships.

One of Amelia’s dream’s was to be a student teacher, she has always looked up to her older role models and it was something she strived to be. She loves teaching younger students and hopes to be a positive role model for them to look up to. Amelia is honored to be a part of the L.E.A team.

MISS KHARLI DUEMMER

STUDENT TEACHER

Kharli began dancing at 3 years of age and has been passionate about dance from that very moment. Kharli has participated in a range of dance classes including, ballet, jazz, contemporary, cheerleading, hip hop and aerial. Kharli also completed gymnastics for 3 years. Kharli has been dancing at L.E.Academy for the past 3 years and she can’t wait to make more amazing memories from the years to come.
Kharli competed with her school dance team for the past 3 years, she held a place in the dance excellence program at her school, L.E. Academy 2017 Elite team, multiple Eisteddfods and many other various experiences. Kharli was overjoyed to begin student teaching at L.E.Academy this year and has loved every moment!
Dancing at L.E.Academy has been such an amazing experience for Kharli and she loves walking in to dance everyday to a place she can call her second home, knowing she will always be greeted with friendly faces. L.E. Academy has allowed Kharli to grow as a dancer and as an individual. Kharli always strives to be a positive role model to the younger students, not just as a teacher but also as a friend.
