If you have missed out this term don’t worry we will be holding another challenge in term 3.
ELITE DANCE SCHOLARSHIP:
At the beginning of this year we introduced a new scholarship program to the studio in which one dancer who receives a fully paid annual scholarship in to our elite team programme. It is always a tough decision to make when we are giving out awards ect as we would love to offer things to everyone but unfortunately that can never be the case. The dancer that received the award for 2019 is hard working, dedicated, super talented and is from a family of 4 siblings. Myself and Luke were super happy to award this superstar with this award and are excited to see where her talent takes her. Well done Miss ALEX EMENEY on being awarded the Elite dance scholarship for 2019. We will be continuing this program in to next year and will be looking for dancers to award it to at the 2020 elite team auditions.
BALLET & TAP EXAMS:
At the end of the year on the 16th of November we will be holding mock ballet & tap exams at the studio to get the children prepared and used to exam situations as we plan on introducing exams in 2020 and entering those ready and wanting to take exams. Ballet exams will be taken with the board Cecchetti and tap exams will be taken with the board ATOD. I have had numerous questions relating to dance boards and I can assure you that which ever dance board your child takes their Exams with is quite sufficient and will set them in good stead for their future dance career that the work crosses over very similarly and both dance boards we use at L.E.Academy are recognized worldwide. We of course would like all of our students to take part in these exams so we can also asses which grade they will be going in to and which work they will be working on for their 2020 examinations however due to the amount of work and preparation needed we require for the dancers to take a extra ballet class to focus on their Exam work, this means that as of term 3 dancers wishing to take ballet exams will be taking one ballet class for concert work & technique and one ballet class to work on exam syllabus there is just not enough time in one hour per week to fit all the necessary work in. We however will package these classes for you and will offer a discount to make it more manageable financially, we will release times & dates for these extra classes once we have heard from all ballet dancers regarding their decision on exams. The tap classes will not require an extra class at this stage but possibly will next year. If your child is interested in taking exams or you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
DARKER NIGHTS & SAFETY OF OUR STARS:
As the darker nights are starting to come in as we did last year we will be locking the doors to the building at 5.30pm/6pm when Sheree leaves, this is to ensure that nobody that shouldn’t be entering the building can do so. If you are coming to pick up or drop your child off for classes we kindly ask that you wait outside with them until we can get to the door to unlock it, we will be opening it in the cross over of classes but will not keep coming to the door and disrupting classes that the teachers are currently teaching.
All children on the premisis should be in classes or in the waiting room with a parent or adult supervision, no children under the age of 12 are permitted to be left at the studio without adult supervision, we are not a babysitting service and are not responsible for children left at the studio with no adults. Our teachers are in classes and are busy working and teaching your children and sheree is not always on reception desk she also has work to do whilst at the studio. Please do not leave your children unattended. We also ask for the safety of the children that you please drop them in the car park and not on the road and walk them in to the studio especially children under the age of 12 years.
We thank you for your cooperation regarding this
Don’t forget to check our calendar of events which we continuously update with events for the year.
Please also add yourself in to the parents forum on Facebook so you can keep up to date. Note this is a separate closed page for our parents only you will need to request to join.
