HELLO EVERYONE AND WELCOME BACK FOR TERM 4!!

We made it!! End of term three is here and as we step in to this last week I just have a few things to tick off the checklist.

What a year!!!

I cannot believe we are stepping in to the last term of 2018, this year has been a huge one for us at L. E. A and I am so excited about what 2019 will bring for us! We have lots of exciting ideas flowing!

With the concert now very much on the horizon I just have to remind you all that term fees must be paid or on a payment plan by week 2 of this term to allow your child to take part in the concert, the reason behind this is that we still unfortunately have unpaid fees from term 3 and cannot continue to run this way. Also please note that the concert is not the end of the term, classes will still continue and the children will still be learning, they will still be working on strength, flexibility, technique, dance styles and of course having heaps of fun! Please be aware that our classes are paid termly each term, term 4 is no exception to the rest of the year. At L. E. Academy we bring the concert a little earlier than the majority of other dance studios to help our families out as we know that the end of the year can become busy and stressful enough.

 

Please also take time to read the information we send out in regards to the concert and up coming events, we do endeavor to try and relay all information in a multitude of different avenues but we are still having questions regarding rehearsals, concert times, where to buy tickets etc…

Concert info:

Thank you all for your time and effort with the recent rehearsals! We appreciate your patience and dedication to ensure this performance is one your little ones will be proud of being a part of!

Below are some helpful tips that will help concert time run a little smoother, please remember we have 130+ children in the concert so following these simple steps at home will set your children up to succeed on stage:

 

*Please ensure everything is labeled! Undies, shoes, tights, costumes, accessories, uniform etc… this is super important!! We have had numerous items go missing that are not labeled, this results in very upset dancers and possibly not receiving that item back which I imagine will then result in very upset parents, please label things to avoid this issue from occurring.

*Bring all items to and from the concert in either labeled plastic roller boxes or suitcases. Lots of plastic bags around can get easily mistaken and causes lots of unnecessary mess. It will be heaps more convenient and easier for your children to put their things in their box, this will also avoid confusion and mix ups of items.

*Every dancer needs to be wearing tan dance tights on stage under their costume (except boys). You can purchase these from Sheree at reception. We do have a special deal on dance tights, purchase 3 and get on free for $33.00 or $11 per pair, you can mix and match these with ballet tights too. We strongly suggest having a rehearsal pair and a concert back up pair just in case.

*Please ensure your dancer is wearing the correct underwear and socks. Throughout the rehearsals we have seen lots of pretty patterned and bright pants sticking out underneath leotards. Please ensure your child has nude or white underwear on with their costumes and again we strongly suggest to have a spare pair in their box just incase.

*Please send your child to the concert prepared with the following items; Hairbrush, comb, grips, make up, baby wipes, hairspray, deodorant, spare tights, spare socks, costumes, dance shoes, accessories for costumes, any medication they may require, small towel,  healthy snacks, pocket money for tuck shop, water, quite activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU!!!

A massive thank you to all of you who got involved with the elites nationals fundraising and helped our elites get to Sydney nationals!!

In total the elites raised a massive $5,900 all of which helped go towards the children’s trip to Sydney. Huge thank you to our fundraising coordinators Jane & Bec.

Well done to the amazing dancers on their well deserved success at nationals! Our stars walked away from the national competition after competing against Australia’s & New Zealand’s best of the best studios with 5x Highly commended ribbons, 1x 4th place, 1x 3rd place, 2x 2nd places and 1x 1st place! With two routines also making the grand finals of the nationals competition in which the under 8s received 3rd place and a technique award and our joint routine for all elites received a teamwork award! We also had two soloists, Tamika and Macey receive a HC in their section! We are super proud of all of our dancers and are amazed at their growth, talent, bond, compassion and sportsmanship they consistently show. WELL DONE ON A GREAT & SUCCESSFUL YEAR ELITES!

 

2019 ELITE TEAMS:

If you are interested in being a part of the magic next year we will soon be holding our 2019 elite team auditions. Next year the teams will run a little differently from this year, we will still take part in competitions but will not be taking part in the nationals in Sydney if we get through. We would like to focus the teams towards gaining more of a technique base and doing more GC based events and comps. Even though we do endeavour to have a less stressful elites year there however are always still extra costs associated with being part of the elite teams. We encourage all of our stars to audition for the elite teams, being part of the teams creates such a special bond between the dancers, improves and pushes their dance technique and ability and definitely boosts confidence. If you are interested in auditioning please look out for the sign up sheet at reception with Sheree.

*Monday 8th October- Term 4 starts

 

*Saturday 13th October- Concert Photo shoot day- FULL HAIR & MAKE UP REQUIRED, ALL COSTUMES & ACCESSORIES NEEDED- please check the schedule for your dancers time slot

 

*Saturday 20th October- Full concert dress run with hair & make up- 9am-4pm- ALL CHILDREN IN WONDERLAND CONCERT REQUIRED

 

*27th & 28th October- L. E. Academy’s stars concert weekend!!!!!!!

 

*Monday 29th October- Friday 2nd November- HALLOWEEN DRESS UP WEEK IN CLASSES! (Gold coin donation on the door towards studio fundraising)

 

*Friday 2nd November – 6.30pm-9pm- L. E. A HALLOWEEN DISCO!!!- Halloween face painting, scary slushies, tuck shop, games, prizes & DANCING! $10 entry on door includes one free scary slushie on arrival- OPEN TO ALL AGES & NON LEA MEMBERS SO BRING YOUR FRIENDS!

 

*Monday 19th November- Friday 23rd November- CRAZY HAIR & SOCKS WEEK IN CLASSES (Gold coin donation on the door towards studio fundraising)

 

*Saturday 24th November- 9am-1pm- 2019 Elite teams auditions- ($5.00 on the door to audition)

 

*Monday 10th December- Friday 14th December- CHRISTMAS FREE DRESS WEEK IN CLASSES

 

*Friday 14th December- Term 4 ends!

 

*Saturday 15th December- AWARDS, PRESENTATION & END OF YEAR PARTY!!!! (More information will be posted shortly)

 

*Saturday 26th January- L. E. Academy 2019 OPEN DAY- 9am-2pm

 

*Tuesday 29th January 2019- TERM ONE STARTS!
